A Cost Effective Solution
by M. Sidney Wallace
The leaders of Congress, Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid, are saying their health care agenda will pass both houses of congress and the nation will be better for it. They say their party will vote for Obama’s socialistic agenda no matter what the folks back home decide to do in November 2010. They are willing to sacrifice their majority to get their agenda established and will bankrupt the once strongest nation in the history of the world.
The American standard of living must and will fall to that of a third world nation for Obama to prove his ideals of world socialism will work here as well as it did in Kenya, Cuba, and the Soviet Union.
Now let us look at a few germane facts about national health care.
1. The United States already has the best health care system in the world.
2. The only item broken in the national health care program is the bleeding heart bureaucratic interpretation of the concept.
3. The proposed new national health care initiatives will only cause massive shortages, endless waiting for government bureaucrats, and billions of dollars in governmental waste.
The trading of national treasure for votes has already begun in the congress. Representatives and Senators are promised countless millions of dollars for their support of bills. The members of congress know there is unmistakable disapproveable by their constituents back home. These members of congress do not care, because they are getting their payoffs up front.
For all of those soon to be unemployed members of congress, let me propose a very simple solution to the current disastrous cost of national health care. This solution just might keep you employed after November 2010. Each state has primary responsibility for payment of emergency room treatment of uninsured patients. Consider the following:
1. Establish a state bureaucracy to determine the amount and types of treatment to be administered within a specific state for those uninsured.
2. Establish a regional bureaucracy to determine the amount and types of treatment to be administered within the geographical region for those uninsured.
3. Establish a national bureaucracy to determine the amount and types of treatment to be administered within the nation for those uninsured.
4. Allow everyone to come to an emergency room with no questions ask for emergency treatment.
5. Once an individual has been evaluated at the emergency room, allow only life saving treatment to begin.
6. Once an uninsured individual is stabilized, refer them to a governmental bureaucrat to document their case and submit the paper work to the next level of review.
This methodology will force those without health care insurance to fight the stone walls of bureaucracy and not the responsible citizens of the land. Those receiving the benefits must pay with either money or time. The nation has limited medical resources. Who should be denied, the responsible or irresponsible?
