By M. Sidney Wallace.
Nancy Pelosi has said that the nation does not have enough time to start over and create a national health care program that the citizens can endorse. George Washington spent his entire eight years in office attempting to hammer out a comprehensive health care bill with the first Congress of the United States. He was not a truly committed socialist and failed but the nation prospered anyway. Have you ever wonder how much the nation would have grown if massive taxes had been imposed on the citizens of the young nation to pay for such a foolish socialist concept.
Thomas Jefferson spent his entire tenure in office attempting to construct a comprehensive health care bill with the Congress. Like George Washington he was not a truly committed socialist and likewise failed, but the nation prospered anyway. Have you ever wonder how he would have paid for the Louisiana Purchase if he had to also pay for socialized national health care.
Abraham Lincoln managed the nation during the Civil War and was assassinated before he was able to get started on a national health care bill for the United States. The war was bloody but the union held together. It was not the battles of the Civil War but the economics of the war that destroyed the South. Have you ever wondered what the United States would be like today if the Union had been bankrupt during the Civil War?
From the early 1900’s, Theodore Roosevelt, Woodrow Wilson, FDR and LBJ, spent every working moment of their presidency trying to import socialism into the American way of life. They partially succeeded but the nation prospered anyway. Jimmy Carter, like Barack Obama, was a typical incompetent socialist that had no idea what he wanted to do, and the nation floundered until he left office.
Ronald Reagan did not waste a single minute trying to burden the citizens of the United States with a big government takeover. The economics of the nation started to explode and the American standard of living ascended higher than any level in decades. Have you ever wondered how the nation would have prospered during the 80’s and 90’s, if it had been burdened with massive federal taxation?
We now come back to our brilliant Speaker of the House of Representatives. She says that there is no time to go back and start over on national health care. She is totally correct. The socialist have spent the last one hundred years trying to “dumb-down” Americans as to the values of socialism. In 2010 nearly a third of the population believes the federal government is the answer to all of their problems. This is why Nancy is so resolute in not waiting. She knows that the teachers unions will continue to un-educate the nation’s future youth, but she also knows that she will not live another one hundred years to get the number of incapable citizens to raise up and demand their benefits.
