Insanity has been defined as "doing the same thing, time and time again, and expecting different results", and that is exactly what party supporters are advocating. Seventeen years ago, The House had a "Contract with America", yet it did not change the Republican Party one whit in the actions of its members in their voting while the mantra, "vote for the party candidate" has made each party more solidly filled with self anointed "rulers", and has resulted in the expulsion of those who speak for "The People".
The premise a candidate can’t win without being “the party candidate” is right, but only because so many voters refuse to accept the fact that parties do not exist for any benefit of The People, but entirely for the purpose of making every election a two party race, with no outsider competitors. This will not change until people quit demanding the abject respect for the party as the means of choice.
The only way for us to return to a day when our votes are the real choice, and not merely rubber stamping our choice between two unqualified candidates, is for we, those who also know better, to start speaking the truth about the exact purpose of "party", hearken back to President Washington's farewell Address, and rebuke all those who clamor for parties, and start stating the facts about them, and why they came to power, and why they must be shunned absolutely.
Only a moral and ethical people are capable of self government, and we must lose the parties, if we are ever to be such as "a people" again. We would be better off electing known criminals into office, and replacing them every election, with no such thing as incumbency, than we are trying to fix the system while supporting the idea of party politics. We must break the connection between elected members of government, and the people who have money to hand out for the buying of influence.
Parties are made by the politicians to give assurance of being the "right hand to place money in", to get a specific result. The people are sold “The Parties” on the notion too many candidates would be too confusing for us to make wise decisions from among them. When there are no parties, those wishing to buy influence can only guess what their money will buy, and hopefully it will buy nothing but advertising, and no loyalty.
Only by returning to a point where we are electing known members of our own communities, and expecting they return not electing them again, can we break this hold, and if it is not broken, the whole of the Tea Party work was wasted, just as the "Contract with America" was a waste, because it was a contract with a party full of criminals.
I have been voting carefully since 1976, and have noted that I have never voted for anyone I truly trusted, and believed would act as a Statesman and on the behalf of our Nation, with the singular exception of electing President Reagan, and I voted for the man, not the party, on that election night.
Had John McCain been elected rather than Obama, I believe we would be even worse off, because Obama made known who he is, and what he would and has done, while McCain is substantially no different in every sense except he is an American. We can rest assured he would have bailed out the banks, the auto industry, and done the same monetary damage done by Obama, and is just as much a world government purveyor as Obama, just not open about it.
In our next election I will truly vote my conscience, and let the chips lay where they fall. I say “If you believe in the Constitution, start sounding off about the fact parties are no part of it, and are in fact, the antithesis of its principles.” If you believe in self government, stand up for the Citizen, and stop shilling for party, because both parties are morally bankrupt completely, with neither worse than the other, but both worse than none at all.
Many who support “party politics” use the quote "the enemy of my enemy is my friend" to support their standing with “party, but they never notice Nations which operate on that premise are at war, recovering from war, or preparing for war, because they left of the last part of the quote. They left off "for now", and that is THE operative phrase, which counters the effectiveness of the whole notion.
This is fully in keeping with the premise in the Koran allowing lying is not lying, if you are lying to an infidel, cease-fires are not really about peace, they are hudnas, for the purpose of regrouping, re-arming, and preparing to start fighting again, hopefully before your enemy has completed his re-arming and preparing. Parties are to a free Nation just as the respect for hudnas is for a free and independent people.
The truth is, as long as we have party politics as the primary means of candidate selection, we will always be confronted with a government full of the desire to rule over us, because that is the form of people brought before us by party politics. To end this, we must eliminate loyalty to party, one cannot be loyal to any party and loyal to the Constitution, not now, not ever and that is long proven, more than an hundred and fifty years of evidence being amassed so far.
We must go back to our ways at the beginning, voting for people, people we know, sending them to serve us in congress, with the knowledge of any real need which can be addressed by a National body, and then letting them come back to work, and electing another person, citizen, neighbor, to continue the original process our forefathers started, if we wish to regain control of our Nation as Sovereign Citizens, and regain control of our Government, as Our Constitution gives us the power to do, but only if we hold all our “sovereign loyalty” to it, and none to any party or other group affiliation.
We are at a tipping point for this Nation of ours, and once tipped, we can scramble, we can jump and run, but we shall not get it back if we allow it to go over the edge. Supporting anything but the complete return to the Constitution right now is exactly the wrong thing to do. There is time to save our Nation, but only if all of us focus on The Nation, and recognize having a chance is as good as it gets, and failing to use it, guarantees the end of our “Grand Experiment”.
