A driver was stuck in a traffic jam on the highway outside of Washington, D.C. Nothing was moving. Suddenly, a man knocks on the window. The driver rolls it down and asks, what’s going on?
The reply was, terrorists have kidnapped Congress, including the Senate. They’re demanding 100 million dollars in ransom. Otherwise they’re going to douse all of them in gasoline, and set them on fire. We are going car to car, collecting donations.
How much is everyone giving, on average, the driver asks? Oh, roughly a gallon, the man replies.
I got this in my mail today, and my first thought was, most cars have about 12 to 14 gallons, if I was in my van, with thirty five gallons roughly, I reckon my share would have to be at least 2 to 3 gallons.
That this is my first thought, screams there is something fundamentally wrong with our government, something which goes all the way down to its foundation. I love my country, I offered my life to serve it, and my first thought is, “my share would be two to three”.
For this to be going around and get this kind of reaction speaks volumes about how everyone feels regarding The People who have been put by us into Congress, and what they are doing, what we The People think the outcome of their actions will be, and what we, as A People, believe we have the power to do about it.
In this joke is the statement we don’t believe, as a Whole Nation, we can either control what the people we vote into office do, and we can’t control who we are allowed to send to office. To suggest the only way to “clean house”, which is what this whole joke is about, is for terrorists to kidnap the whole of OUR working government, and offer us the choice of getting them back, for a lowball price, and the natural take of 90% of us is to avidly choose letting the terrorists enjoy a wienie roast, is a telling answer, with jokes being a way to tell a truth which is ugly, in such a way, people aren’t totally offended, and actually think about the statement the joke makes.
I wrote an essay last week, very carefully taking a long screed, dissecting it, cutting out all the excess, chopping it up and eliminating things everyone already knows, and getting it winnowed down to some seven hundred words, and for me, this was hard work, much harder than writing what I chopped to pieces.
I must have cut out all the important part, because I got zero reaction from that essay, and looking at it in retrospect, it got the reaction natural for what it said.
I tried to speak my mind, but all I did was make the statement; we have to change, or we have to live with what happens when we do nothing. If I can, I will put forth what I wrote after realizing the return on that essay, the “if I can” is whether I can break it into rational parts, and present it without losing the audience.
I’m angry with My People, my fellow citizens. We can pass around jokes, we can laugh at these people who are all we are offered as choice, we can do everything we want except choose who we would have represent us, and put them in office, because those we would choose, are not acceptable to the rulers of our Nation, the party bosses, the non-governmental rulers of our elections, those people who have been in their respective parties long enough to be the top tier, and those who decide who shall, and who shall not be supported by each of the parties.
If this really were our Country, our Nation, if we were really “Sovereign Citizens”, if we believed in the rule of law, any single one of us could turn to any of those in “party” and simply state, you have no authority, nothing on me, and it would be true.
Instead, because the loyalty which so many cleave to their party, the exact parties which have done every bit of evil work against our national principles, every bit of agitating against equal rights for women, every bit of standing against the application of our original principles to all citizens, simply as a matter of course, following the nature of the law, and the nature of what we must accept all people to be.
We made our Declaration of our natural right to establish a new government of our own choosing, precisely because the lawful government which was in charge when it was in good legal standing, was violating its own laws against we Subjects of the Crown, and only because this government of ours was breaking The Law, did we have the natural right to dismiss it from over us, as free and self governing colonies, assuming the separate but equal status of “States” among the other States of the world.
We live under a government which has a hundred times as many laws, violating reason and liberty, than that government did, and this government is not restrained by almost two thousand miles of ocean, but resides in the heart of our own Nation, where it has extended its tentacles out in every direction, inserting its self in every transaction we make, even down to the candy we buy for our children, and most of Americans are willing to accept what This Government offers as “The Candidates”, either the one who is actively working to destroy every bit of the form and function of the Nation we inherited from previous generations, or one of the four, right now, who have made it to the stage to compete with that incumbent.
Three of those are properly fit to the party called republican, with one who has so much public support the party, while doing everything in its power to abuse him, deny him legitimacy, the one man who has the support of over 80% of the members of our Armed Forces; he’s there because The People refuse to let the party keep him off the stage.
Every single idiot we have the choice to choose from save one, the criminal incumbent, all the democrats who would run to the front were a lawful government to choose to investigate, and miraculously discovered he was an illegal alien, and not even a citizen, but they would never push, and this government will never be lawful, so that isn’t an issue. All those who would have been on the ballot, but were knocked out early, all of them approved by the whole of this government we hate, we know is wrong, which won’t do anything we tell it, not even keep books honest, we can vote for any of those this government approves of.
Then there is this other choice, and for it, we are told only fools could vote for him, he’s crazy because he thinks the truth still matters, honor is still a fixed and unchanging thing, and nothing of our original contract for government is out of touch, it is only the loss of sight of what government should be which is missing, but should he by some miracle becomes the nominee, we’d have to be crazy to vote for him and upset the whole of the Nation, The Government, and the Word’s expectations, and put a crazy man in office who thinks all those things matter to Countries, or we can act like reasonable people and either re-elect the gun running, amnesty executing, crucifying law officers and border patrol agents, those it doesn’t kill, or provide guns to those who would kill them, illegal alien who wants our Nation to die, or any of those others who is in less of a hurry but is looking for exactly the same end.
I guess I’d rather just be called stupid, or crazy, or what ever, but I choose truth, honor, principle, and there is one and only one man who would represent those things for our Nation, standing upon them before the world, and telling all the detractors, they know not what of they speak, and he is right.
I only know he believes these things because he has stood on them for over forty years, in public, bearing the ridicule, the jokes, forty years of the establishment looking at a lone man standing on stage, a slight smile on his lips, normally, a slight wrinkling of consternation when the hardest jabs are made, but the twinkle in his eye remaining, even as the only logical, reasoned, fact supported principle founded statement of what we must do to have the established republic; the single best form of government ever established by man, restored and back in working order, instead of the massive, disrespectful behemoth we face every day, and laugh about terrorists taking it hostage, and what we would donate to set them free.
